Jay Richmond

Jay Richmond is currently TBG’s Senior Director of retail. Having worked for 30 years both in the public sector and private sector, he provides clients with valuable experience from both the landlord and tenant perspective, along with effective negotiation skills. Previous major retail landlord clients have included companies such as Choice REIT, Oxford Properties, Ivanhoe Cambridge, RioCan and Smart REIT. Major retail tenant clients that Jay has represented include Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Shoppers Drugmart, Mac’s Convenience, Rogers Video, Loblaws, Magicuts, Top Cuts, the Bochner Institute, Hertz, Budget, TD Canada Trust, Scotiabank, and HSBC. Jay has worked with landlords to lease individual vacant units as well as merchandize and lease entire retail developments. Has also sold small and larger priced projects. His years of experience allow him to quickly identify the right tenants for each project. He has worked with service-oriented tenants such as doctors, dentists and chiropractors, and personal service businesses such as hair salons, jewelers and dry cleaners. As well, Jay has worked with fast food establishments, independent and national restaurants, financial institutions and schools.
